Alastair Miles

Born in Harrow, England, Alastair Miles studied in the Guildhall Scholl of Music in London. In 1986 he won the Decca Kathleen Ferrier Foundation Award, starting then an intense professional career being invited by the best opera houses, orchestras and record labels.
He has performed in the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Opera National in Paris, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Real in Madrid, Covent Gardin in Londonor the Staatsoper in Viena, as well as in Amsterdam, Boston, Brussels, Salzburg, etc. He has worked with the mos prestigious orchestras of the world, like the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra or the San Francisco Symphony, among others. Alastair Miles has worked under the baton of conductos as Sir Colin Davis, Carlo María Giulini, Zubien Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Nikolais Harnoncourt, Kurt Masur, Valery Gergiev, Michael Tilson Thomas or Sir Johan Eliot Gardiner, etc.

In his operatic repertoire he has performed the main roles of Puritani, Lucia di Lammemoor, Saul, Nabucco, Il barbiere di Siviglia, La forza del destino, Le nozze di Figaro, La Sonnambula, Macbeth, La damnation de Faust or Simon Boccanegra, among many others.
His discography features more than fifty recordings for labels as Philips, Chandos, Ambroise or Teldec, among others. Several of them have obtained important awards: Grammophon award to the best coral album or best album of the year awarded by the International Record Review.
