BIO

Andrés Salado is one of the most outstanding Spanish conductors of his generation. Born in Madrid in 1983, he began his musical training playing piano, violin and baroque flute. He finally opted for percussion and graduated at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música of Madrid.

He later became attracted by the orchestral sound he listed to in its numerous interventions either as an associated or as a full member of orchestras such as the Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Joven Orquesta Nacional de España or the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, amongst others, and he finally began his studies in orchestral conduction.

He learned from maestros such as Miguel Romea, Peter Rundell, Jorma Panula, Sandro Gorli, Peter Gülke, Peter Eötvös and Antoni Ros Marbà.

Andrés Salado has conducted most of the main Spanish orchestras, such as the Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE, Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona y Nacional de Catalunya, Real Filharmonía de Galicia, Oviedo Filarmonía, Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, the symphony orchestras of Madrid, Bilbao, Tenerife, Navarra, Euskadi, Extremadura, Islas Baleares, Valencia, as well as the young orchestras of Extremadura, Galicia, Sevilla, Comunidad de Madrid and the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España. He has also conducted important international orchestras: Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México, Orquesta Sinfónica de Yucatán, Orquesta Sinfónica de Oporto “Casa da Musica”, Divertimento Ensemble, Salzburg Chamber Soloist at the Mozarteum Sommerakademie and Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra at the Lucerne Festival, entre otras.

He has permorfed in prestigious theaters and concert halls: Auditorio Nacional de Música (Madrid), L’Auditori (Barcelona), Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico D.F.), Teatre Principal (Palma de Mallorca), Teatro Dal Verme (Milan) o el KKL Luzern (Switzerland), among many others.
His recents and future engagements include conducting the symphony orchestras of Galicia, Castile and León, Balearic Islands, Region of Murcia and Extremadura, amongst others. He has been re-invited to conduct the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional (Mexico) and he will debut with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi at the Festival MITO (Italy).

Winner of the “Princesa de Girona de Artes y Letras 2016” Prize, Andrés Salado is Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Joven Orquesta de Extremadura and the Orquesta Opus 23.
