Asier Polo: six concerts with the Orquesta Nacional de España

These days the Spanish cellist is also presenting his new album with the Suites for cello solo by Bach.

Asier Polo will offer six solo concerts in the coming weeks with the National Orchestra of Spain, performing Joseph Haydn’s Concerto for cello and orchestra No. 1, under the conduction of David Afkham, the orchestra’s chief and artistic director. The first three will take place at the Auditorio Nacional on February 5, 6 and 7. The other three will be held at the Auditori of Barcelona on February 12, 13 and 14.

The great Spanish cellist, winner of the 2019 National Music Prize, returns to the ONE after the success achieved last season by performing Elgar’s Cello Concert under the baton of maestro Juanjo Mena.

Asier Polo is also presenting his new CD «Suites for cello solo» by Johann Sebastian Bach, recorded in the Basque collegiate church of Zenarruza and published with the IBS record label.
