Born in Badajoz (Spain), after studing piano, singing and choral music, Carmen Solís won many important awards such as the “Manuel Ausensi”, “Villa de Abarán”, “Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla”, “OPERALIA”, “Francisco Viñas”, “Jose A. Alegría” (Portugal), Concurso de Logroño.
She has been awarded with the “Targa d’argento” to the best talented artist by the Alfredo Catalani Foundation (Lucca, Italia).
Carmen sang in France (Théâtre de Châtelet de Paris, Theatre Royan, Theatre Sant Genís), Canada (Québec Opera House), Germany, Italy, Portugal and in the main Spanish theaters such as: Teatro Real and Teatro Monumental in Madrid, Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, Teatro Campoamor Oviedo, Palacio Euskalduna, Teatro Campos and Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao, Teatro Gayarre in Pamplona, Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid with the most important Spanish orchestras Orquesta de RTVE…

She also worked with directors such as, Emilio Sagi, Curro Carreres and Gilbert Defló.
Carmen debuted in the Teatro Real de Madrid with Furie in the opera Orfeo y Euridyke by Ernst Krenek. She also sung Amelia in Un ballo in maschera and Leonora in Il Trovatore at the Opera Oviedo; Tosca in Bilbao (Teatro Campos), Pamplona (Auditorio Baluarte) and Lucca (Teatro del Giglio), Suor Angelica in Badajoz, Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana) in Lucca, Mimi (La bohéme) in Barcelona, Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro at the ABAO (Euskalduna), Reyes (Entre Sevilla y Triana) by Sorozábal in the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao and Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla.
Carmen’s symphonic repertoire include: the Requiem and Krönungmass by Mozart, Gloria by Vivaldi, Mass in G by Schubert, Stabat mater by Pergolesi, Requiem by Fauré, Petit Messe Solennelle by Rossini, Magnificat by Bach and Ave Maris Stella by Leonardo Leo, among others.
Carmen has been invited to some of the most important festivals in Spain and abroad, such as: Festival de Santander, Lyric gala at the Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE, Festival “Un violón Sur le sable” in Royan and Festival lirique des Payses Catalans (France), Lazzareschi de Porcari Foundation (Lucca, Italia), Festival lírico de El Escorial, Montecatini (Italia), Ciclo de los Castillos de Cataluña, Stagione lirica del Teatro del Giglio (Lucca, Italia), Festival Ibérico de Música and Semana de Música Sacra in Badajoz.
