François López-Ferrer, after his successful debut in Switzerland replacing Iván Fischer, conducted the Verbier Festival Orchestra together with Sir Simon Rattle and Gabor Takács-Nagy, obtaining a resounding success that made him one of the most powerful conductors of orchestra of his generation.
He has worked, among others, with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Hamburg Symphony, the Orquesta RTVE, the Musikkollegium Winterthur, the Gstaad Festival Orchestra, the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León and the Bern Symphony Orchestra.
Recent and future engagements include concerts with the Hong Kong and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestras, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta Nacional de España, the Symphony Orquestras of Valencia, Galicia and Navarra , the Extremadura Orchestra, etc.
He is currently a “Dudamel Fellow” of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Associate Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the May Festival.
López-Ferrer was Principal Director of the Chilean National Ballet and held the position of Associate Director of the National Symphony Orchestra of Chile.
