François López-Ferrer, appointed assistant conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra

The Spanish-American conductor will take office in September, with the start of the new season, and will also be assistant conductor of the May Festival.

François López-Ferrer has been named assistant conductor at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. In his new position he will work with the CSO Musical Director Louis Langrée and with the Principal Conductor of the May Festival, Juanjo Mena.

Closely linked to the city of Cincinnati, where he has lived and in whose University he made part of his training as a musician, François López-Ferrer is currently associate conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica nacional de Chile and principal conductor of the Ballet Nacional Chileno.

In the past season he conducted in Spain, among others, the Orquesta de RTVE and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León.
