BIO
A unique mixture of technical skills, great sensibility and a deep passion in his performance have established Leo de María as one of the best performers of his generation.
Born in Madrid in 1995, he started his musical training at the age of 11. He studied at the Music and Scenic Arts Faculty at the Alfonso X El Sabio University of Madrid under the leadership of Leonel Morales. Now is under the supervision of the Professor Pavel Gililov.
More than 30 National and International awards confirm the musical quality of Leo de María, including the 2018 National Culture Prize for Artistic Revelation, as well as the First Prizes at the International Piano Competition of Ferrol (Spain), MozARTè (Germany) or Grand Prix de Lyon (France).

Beeing 15 years old, he performed the Concert number 1 of Prokofiev with the “Cukurova State Symphony Orchestra” in Adana-Turkey, under the direction of the Maestro Emin Güven Yasliçam. Because of his triumph, he was again invited to Antalya beeing only 16 years old, to perform this time the Concerto number 1 of Tchaikovsky.
Since then, his activity as a performer has taken him to different places all around the world, acting in the most prestigious halls as the Wiener Saal in Salzburg, San Pedro’s Auditorium in Monterrey (Mexico) at the Festival Santa Cecilia- Parnassós, Salle Molière in Lyon at the Festival “Les Virtuoses du Piano”, Bibiena de Mantova Theatre (Italy), the House of A. Scriabin in Moscow, Radio France in Paris, Elfer’s Concert Hall in Connecticut (USA), Vermietung Laeiszhalle de Hamburg (Germany), Slovenia, Italy, Holland…
In Spain, he has collaborated with the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, Juan March Foundation, Manuel De Falla Auditorium in Granada, Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, Palau de la Música in Valencia, Castellon’s Auditorium, Zaragoza’s Auditorium…

The Spanish maestro Guillermo García Calvo, invited by the Amigos Canarios de la Ópera (ACO) will conduct Ernani by Giuseppe Verdi at the Teatro Pérez Galdós on May 24, 26 and 28.
