NANCY FABIOLA HERRERA: Versatile and important season 2020/21.
Nancy Fabiola Herrera, one of our most international voices, concludes the 2020/2021 season full of uninterrupted success.
The Caracas-born grancanarian mezzo soprano has just starred at the Teatro Cervantes in Malaga La casa de Bernarda Alba, by Miquel Ortega, an opera that she herself premiered with great success at Madrid’s Teatro de la Zarzuela in November 2018.
Already in Tenerife, the Cinco canciones negras by X. Montsalvatge await Nancy Fabiola together with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tnerife under the conduction of maestro Fabio Luisi to be performed in two concerts to be held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. July 10 and 11, respectively, within the framework of the 36th edition of the Canary Islands International Music Festival.
Nancy Fabiola Herrera also performed las offered the Cinco canciones negras by Montsalvatge together with the Orquesta Nacional de España, conducted by maestro David Afkham on March 5 within the Focus Festival organized by the OCNE.
With different recitals with piano and zarzuela programs in Latin America and at the Teatro Lírico Español (Oviedo) singing the role of “Mari Pepa” (La Revoltosa, by Ruperto Chapí), and two magnificent concerts at the Auditori de Barcelona directed by Vasily Petrenko alongside the Orquestra Sinfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, singing the chamber version of “Lied der Waldtaube” (Gurre Lieder by A. Schoenberg), this great singer concludes a versatile and highly applauded 2020/2021 season.
