BIO
Born in Málaga in 1986, the young Spanish conductor Salvador Vázquez has established himself as one of the most vibrant and charismatic artists of the new generation of conductors in Spain, with a special enthusiasm for the opera.
Award-winning musician, in 2015 he won the “Ciudad de Malaga” Award, for his outstanding musical achievements, and in 2016 he was awarded First Prize at the Cordoba International Conducting Competition. He was finalist at the 56th Besançon Competition, chosen out of 270 candidates from around the world.
He has conducted orchestras such as Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE, Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra, Filarmonica Nationala Serguei Lunchevichi (Moldavia), Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Orquesta de Extremadura, Orquesta de Córdoba, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia or the Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre (Brasil).

He was chief conductor of the Coro de Ópera de Málaga (2012-2021), and artistic director of the Joven Orquesta Barroca de Amdalucía (JOBA). Salvador has also been assistant conductor of the Academy Orchestra of the Barenboim-Said Foundation, Orquesta Joven de Extremadura and Orquesta de Extremadura.
He was assistant conductor of maestros Pablo González, Anu Tali, Domingo Hindoyan, Manuel Hernandez-Silva, Jordi Bernàcer… He has also collaborated with outstanding conductors and soloists, such as Sandra Ferrández, Nancy Fabiola Herrera, Raquel Lojendio, Rubén Amoretti, Vadym Kholodenko, Damián del Castillo, Mariola Cantarero, Marina Pardo, Beatriz Díaz, Luis Cansino, Juan Antonio Sanabria, Ismael Jordi, José Antonio López, Berna Perles, Carol García, Lidia Vinyes, Joan Martín Royo, Juan Sancho, etc.

Salvador Vázquez and Javier Comesaña, new artists of MUSIESPAÑA
Maestro Salvador Vázquez is recognized as one of the most vibrant and charismatic artists of the new generation of conductors in Spain, with a special enthusiasm for opera. Among his upcoming projects are the direction of Il barbiere di Siviglia in Malaga and La vida breve in Seville. For his part, the young violinist Javier Comesaña has been the winner of the Jascha Heifetz International Competition in Vilnius (2021), the Prinz von Hessen-Preis awarded by the Kronberg Academy and the Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition.
