Maestro Carlos Miguel Prieto makes his debut with the Orquesta Nacional de España

The Mexican conductor will conduct three concerts, on May 28, 29 and 30 with a program that includes the Fantasia para un gentilhombre by Joaquín Rodrigo, the Madrid premiere of Galdosiana by Laura Vega and Variaciones concertantes by Alberto Ginastera.

Carlos Miguel Prieto has been in charge of the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico since 2007, he conducts the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) and in 2008 he was appointed musical director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería.

Chosen «conductor of the year» by Musical América in 2019, in recent seasons, he has made his debut with the United States National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra and Los Angeles New Music Group, and has once again conducted the NDR Elbphilharmonie and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, among many others. He has conducted more than one hundred world premieres of works by Mexican and American composers, many of which he commissioned.
