Associate Conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia since the 2019-2020 season, José Trigueros made the leap to orchestral conducting after an extensive professional career as an instrumentalist.

During the last few seasons, he has conducted ensembles such as the Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta y Coro RTVE, Orquesta Ciudad de Granda, Orquesta de València, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Orquesta de Córdoba, Orquesta Sinfónica de Navara and Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears, among others.

He has also been a frequent guest conductor of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, serving as its assistant conductor and leading the Academy of Contemporary Music. He has worked with soloists such as pianists Simon Trpčeski, Varvara and Boris Giltburg, violist Joaquín Riquelme, harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani, soprano Raquel Lojendio, and flamenco singer Marina Heredia, with whom he premiered Joan Albert Amargós’s ¡En libertad! in Spain in May 2024.

In 2016, he was selected by David Zinman to participate in masterclasses with the prestigious Tonhalle Orchestra of Zurich.

Throughout his career, he has worked as assistant conductor to maestros such as Pablo Heras-Casado, Dima Slobodeniouk, and Alberto Zedda. Trained in percussion at the conservatories of Valencia and Amsterdam, José Trigueros began his orchestral conducting studies with Bruno Aprea and later continued them at the Brussels Conservatory with Patrick Davin.

The Spanish conductor boasts a solid and expanding career and is Associate Conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia. He has conducted top-tier ensembles such as the Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta y Coro de RTVE, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Orquesta de Valencia, la Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, and has also directed the Contemporary Music Academy of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España.
