Born in Madrid, Lucía Caihuela trained as a singer in the Netherlands and graduated cum laude from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, specializing in historical performance practice. Lucía is a regular collaborator with ensembles such as The Netherlands Bach Society, Collegium 1704, Opera2Day, Al Ayre Español, the Seville Baroque Orchestra, L’Apothéose, Ensemble Masques, and La Guirlande.

She has sung as a soloist in prestigious national and international venues such as the Teatro Real, the National Auditorium of Madrid, the Chapelle Royale at Versailles, the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, De Bijloke in Ghent, TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, and the Mozarteum in Salzburg, among others, and has worked with conductors such as Richard Egarr, Philippe Herreweghe, Shunske Sato, Christoph Prégardien, Hans-Christoph Rademann, and Václav Luks.

In the field of opera, Lucia was a finalist in the Neue Stimmen Competition in Germany in 2017, as well as a semi-finalist in the London Handel Competition in 2020. She has performed roles such as Proserpina in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Amenofi in the revival of Conforto’s baroque opera La Nitteti, and in the 2023/2024 season she will perform the role of Poppea in a co-production of L’incoronazione di Poppea between Opera2Day and The Netherlands Bach Society in the Netherlands.
