Raquel Lojendio at the opera Falstaff at the Teatro Real de Madrid

The Spanish soprano plays the role of Mrs. Alice Ford in what is one of Verdi’s great operas on April 24, 27 and May 1 and 7. Falstaff will have musical direction by Daniele Rustioni and stage direction by Laurent Pelly.

Raquel Lojendio faces this new professional challenge in a season full of important milestones as her performance in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, under Maestro Miguél Ángel Gómez Martínez as conductor or the recent success with the «Vier letzte Lieder» by Strauss and the Mahler Symphony No. 4.

A great lieder and interpreter of the choral symphonic repertoire, Raquel Lojendio is also an outstanding opera singer, as evidenced by the long list of roles performed so far: Pamina, in Die Zauberflöte; Donna Anna in Don Giovanni; Violetta, in La Traviata; Nanetta, in Falstaff; Ortlinde, in Die Walküre, by Wagner; Margarita in Faust; ll segreto di Susanna, by Wolf-Ferrari, and Elena e Malvina by Ramón Carnicer.

From our lyric repertoire he has performed in titles such as Las Golondrinas, from Usandizága, San Antonio de la Florida, from Albéniz, or El Caserío by J. Guridi that she will perform at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, under the musical direction of Maestro Juanjo Mena.
