Noemí Pasquina

Born in Cardona (Barcelona, Spain) in 1987 into a family of musicians, she began her artistic education at the age of five and started studying cello at eight. She continued her studies at the Conservatory of Manresa and the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona with Amparo Lacruz, at ESMUC with Arnau Tomàs, and at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Michel Strauss and Jan Ype Nota.
She was admitted to and awarded a scholarship at the Orchestral Academy of the Residentie Orkest – The Hague Philharmonic, where she had the pleasure of collaborating for more than two years. During this time, she also developed her passion for chamber music and won several national competitions with different ensembles: Pòdiums St. Joan de Vilatorrada, L’Arjau Musical Interpretation Competition, Acordes CAJA MADRID, Higini Anglès Chamber Music Competition, International Musical Interpretation Competition of Les Corts for Young Performers, Musical Performance Awards of the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory of Music (Diputació de Girona), and the Alzira Chamber Music Competition.

Upon completing her conducting studies, she was selected as one of two assistant conductors of the Youth Orchestra of Extremadura for the 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 seasons, working closely with the orchestra and its guest conductors. She was also appointed assistant conductor of the Jove Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès and subsequently of the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès during the 2023–2024 season, within the framework of the JOSV Academy and under the mentorship of Xavier Puig, where she had the opportunity to work with different conductors and a wide range of repertoires.
Recognized for her deep musical intuition, her ability to connect authentically with both musicians and audiences, and her innovative yet respectful approach to the orchestral repertoire, she continues to establish herself as a rising figure on the international scene, combining her solid foundation as a cellist with an increasingly prominent role on the conductor’s podium.
